What we do with your details
In short: we use your details to quote for your job and to do the work. We do not sell them, we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for, and we do not share them with anyone who is not part of getting your blinds or floor fitted.
This notice explains how Blinds & Flooring Studio collects and uses personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Last updated September 2026.
What we collect and why
When you ask us for a quote
Through the form, over WhatsApp, by email or on the phone, we collect your name, contact number, email address, the address of the property and what you have told us about the rooms and the work.
We need this to survey the property, prepare a quote, order the right product and arrange the installation. Without it we cannot quote.
When you become a customer
We keep a record of the quote, the order, the measurements, the products supplied, the invoice and the payment. We are required to keep accounting records, and we need the job record to honour a warranty claim years later.
Photographs of the work
We sometimes photograph a finished installation. We will ask you first before using a photograph of your home on our website or social media, and we do not identify the address.
When you use this website
Our hosting keeps standard server records, and some of the tools embedded in these pages — the floor visualiser, the Google reviews display, the map — are run by other companies and set their own cookies. Those are covered further down.
Who else sees it
Our suppliers
To place your order we pass on what the manufacturer needs to make and deliver it — the product, the measurements, and a delivery address where the order comes direct to site.
Installers on your job
Where a specialist installer is doing the work, they get your address, your contact number and the job details so they can arrange access with you. Nothing more.
The services behind this site
Our website host, the service that delivers our enquiry forms to us, and the embedded tools listed below. Each holds only what it needs to do its job.
Nobody else
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers. If a court or the law requires us to hand something over, we will comply.
Tools embedded in these pages
Some features on this site are provided by other companies. When you use them, that company receives information directly and handles it under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it, and how we look after it
Enquiries that go nowhere
If you ask for a quote and decide not to go ahead, we keep the enquiry for up to two years in case you come back to it, then we delete it.
Completed jobs
We keep the job and accounting record for at least five years, as the law requires, and we keep the job details as long as a warranty on that work could still be claimed.
How it is stored
In our business systems, on password-protected accounts, accessible only to the people who need it to do their work. We are a small team and that list is short.
If something goes wrong
If your personal information is ever accessed without authorisation, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to do any of the following, and we will not charge you for it:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete what we are not legally required to keep
- Stop contacting you, or stop using your details for anything beyond your job
- Object to how we are using your information
